Adia In India

You know, life sucks sometimes.

And then you read about something that forces you to rethink your priorities.

Adia is a little girl in India who is being used by her family to elicit the sympathies of those that see her. She is purposely being kept in an emaciated and dehydrated state while her mother begs for money.

Fortunately, she has a Guardian Angel watching over her named Nutmeg.

Please read more of Adia's Story from Nutmeg herself.

When Rocks Talk

I know people who are pretty open to the idea that crystals and stones resonate energies and can be used for various metaphysical purposes...

But the idea of them having a personality can be a stretch.

Let me introduce you to Little Rock -

This quartz crystal was spotted by my husband and myself several years ago in a B&M Crafter's Marketplace. We were drawn to it because of the overwhelming loneliness it was resonating. It looked dull and both my husband and I really felt it just was not happy where it was. We had to take it home with us.

In time, Little Rock began to sparkle and we were feeling more positive energies radiating from it. However, whenever we put it away in the leather pouch I made, it would withdraw the positive energies and become dull and almost lifeless again.

I can't help but think that Little Rock likes being out and receiving attention. Tonight was the first night Little Rock has been out for quite some time - and it started the evening quite dull. But after some time out, and some attention while taking pictures, Little Rock is sparkling like crazy! Sounds silly, but who knows really.

Have you ever had a crystal talk to you?

Be Involved in Something Great

After totally screwing up a VPS I had and deleting my personal site and gallery, I threw together a Blog because I wanted to share this project. I also thought this might serve well for a simple, easy to use hub for any sites I might be inspired to do, or if I just want to share something really quick in a much more linear fashion.

But anyways, here's the project - I think it's a really cool idea and I've reserved April 5, 2010... that is my youngest son's birthday who has overcome so many difficulties in his life. One day, I'll blog about him.

The project, for real this time!

Hope you join me!

Being a Gemini

To celebrate my birthday today, I’m sharing some of my personal reflections on being a Gemini.

I have always felt I was the paradoxial Gemini… some traditional traits I had, others not so much if at all. Gemini’s are known to be communicative and I am - in some ways. Put me in a crowded room, and I freeze however. I have always been terribly shy and have NEVER been the life of the party!

I’m am more outgoing in a more intimate environment. I will talk the ears off of close friends and can be downright excitable and goofy. I also have a natural gift for sarcasm, but I also know when to use it at the right time.

The written word was also important to me. My teenage woes were documented through poems and lyrics, although I could never discipline myself to write a daily journal. There had to be emotion and feeling to unlock the creativity and put thought to paper.

I am highly creative, but unfocused. I tend to move from subject to subject or from project to project with lightning speed. I can not master one thing, but I’m very good with alot of things. My interests have always been spread wide and far. My childhood ambitions spanned from being an opera singer to a fighter pilot.

I think being a Gemini helped immensely in highschool… I could go from one clique to the next and be welcomed by all. It was always easy to listen to and understand two sides of an argument and I was often called to be a peacekeeper among my friends.

I think my biggest drawback to being a Gemini is wanting to do everything! And if I see someone do something, I convince myself that I can do it better. This leads to alot of creative thinking and ideas but since it all moves so fast, I can barely catch my breath long enough to bring it to form!
